Room 8 - Ms. Chung

 In the Classroom

Hi, I am Stacy Chung and I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Master in Teaching and a Special Education Endorsement.  I did my student teaching at Sanislo Elementary in third grade and also did a student teaching experience at the UW Experimental Education Unit in a blended kindergarten.  I am excited to be a kindergarten teacher at Lafayette Elementary.

I have been working with children for over 15 years, mainly teaching and coaching swimming.  I grew up in Naperville, IL, a suburb of Chicago.  After I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Natural Resource Management, I went into the Peace Corps and taught children English, environmental education, leadership skills, and swimming at an after-school center in Slovakia for two years.  I then relocated to Seattle and worked at United Way of King County setting up community service opportunities for students.  I also coached youth swimming for two years.  I enjoy being outdoors and learning about the environment around us, and traveling.

I hope to provide my students a successful and meaningful first year of school by adding my passion for exploring the outdoors, being active, and traveling to be part of my instruction.
