Gym - Ms. Belfor
My goal is to teach the students of Lafayette the importance of fitness and involve them in regular vigorous activity. My program provides physical and social activities that are age and skill appropriate to ensure the success of all my students. My program is designed to focus on life long health and wellness. I use games, sports, stunts and tumbling, as well as rhythmic activities to help my students gain self confidence and move with a purpose to maintain and enhance ones fitness level.
In the third through fourth grades I test fitness using the 'Fitnessgram' designed by the Cooper Institute. I also direct an after school jump rope program and have a rope skipping team called "The Popcorns". My team is sponsored by the American Heart Association.
