Fredrick Ngobi – 5th grade
Hello, my name is Fredrick Ngobi. Currently I teach fifth grade at Lafayette Elementary. I have been teaching in Seattle Schools for 8 years now, three years at Lafayette. As I was mulling over what is worthwhile to write in this bio, I reflected on the many different and interesting trajectories my life story has followed. For more than 2 decades I have been motivated to teach young people and adults, opening up different avenues of inspiration for learning here in the U.S. and in other countries. I have showcased my passion for teaching and learning, always developing a kind of solidarity with my students to forge common ground for effective learning. I do believe that there is no shortcut to competence. I have taught all grade levels, 3rd grade through high school, as well as college. I have two graduate degrees.
