Kayleen Diaz, 2nd Grade,
Kayleen earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees (Special Education K-12 and Elementary Education K-8) from Seattle Pacific University, graduating Cum Laude.
Mrs. Diaz has the highest expectations for the best in every child. She nurtures her students, and she connects with and finds the best in every one of them according to Carol Lake her former principal at Roxhill Elementary School. Lake, said, “I’ve never heard her compromise her expectations; neither have I ever heard her speak unkindly. In fact, she has a great sense of humor, which is a necessity of you’re going into teaching.
She had to go around the world a few times – literally, as an airline flight attendant for 10 years and as a military brat – but Mrs. Diaz knows this is her calling. I chose Lafayette over numerous other schools’ because of its great school staff, supportive principal, and caring PTA.
Mrs. Diaz now lives in Suquamish, Washington and takes the ferry to school. She has a kind heart and takes in strays.
